Tyson Fury’s recent move to the Isle of Man is already having a noticeable impact, with local fighters and fans describing his presence as a major source of inspiration for young people entering the sport.

During his comeback fight following a 16-month retirement, Fury was introduced as fighting out of the Isle of Man, his new home. The former heavyweight champion, along with his wife and seven children, has been seen regularly across the island, despite also spending time training in Thailand.

Manx boxer Jade Burden believes Fury’s arrival has elevated the island’s profile in boxing. She described him as “really down-to-earth” and said his presence is motivating for aspiring fighters in a place not traditionally known for the sport. Burden, who recently received a good luck message from Fury before her postponed fight, said the gesture meant a great deal.

Local residents have also shared positive experiences meeting Fury. One fan encountered him while he was running along Douglas Promenade and described the moment as “unreal,” noting that Fury took time to chat and pose for a photo.

Fury’s growing presence is also seen as beneficial beyond boxing, with locals suggesting it brings attention to the Isle of Man and enhances its image.
