Tyson Fury has officially confirmed that his latest retirement is over, announcing a return to the ring later in 2026. The 37-year-old former two-time heavyweight champion made the declaration on social media, sharing a training montage and declaring “Return of the Mac” as he prepares to fight again after stepping away last January.
Fury had retired following his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, marking the fifth time he had walked away from the sport. Despite that, the Manchester-born heavyweight repeatedly teased a comeback throughout 2025, posting sparring clips and insisting that “the King must return to his throne.”

Four days into the new year, Fury made it official. Alongside his training footage, he wrote: “2026 is that year. Return of the Mac. Been away for a while, but I’m back now, 37 years old and still punching. Nothing better to do than punch men in the face & get paid for it.”
