Turki Alalshikh has expressed interest in staging one of boxing’s most debated matchups: Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson. Known for his ambitious plans in boxing, Turki said he’s willing to fulfill Tank’s previous social media request for “two Ferraris” as part of the negotiation.

Davis recently dismissed Stevenson’s resume, saying Shakur has accomplished “nothing in the sport” and has shown no interest in fighting him or fellow lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis. Instead, Tank revealed his ideal 2025 opponents include Ryan Garcia, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Devin Haney - leaving Shakur out of the equation unless a lucrative offer changes his mind.

Turki has laid out a roadmap for Stevenson: a February 22 bout against Floyd Schofield, followed by a fight with William Zepeda, setting the stage for a potential mega-fight with Davis later in the year. However, Tank’s focus on other names could derail these plans, especially if matchups with Haney or Garcia materialize.

Shakur’s defensive, hit-and-not-get-hit style has drawn mixed reactions from fans, with critics labeling it outdated in an era dominated by more aggressive styles. While his skill set appeals to purist boxing fans, casual audiences have not embraced his fights with the same enthusiasm. This was evident in the crowd’s reactions during his recent bouts, which were met with boos at times.

For Turki, the challenge lies in turning Stevenson into a major draw. Despite the financial resources to make the fight happen, Shakur’s ability to headline a big event remains in question. For now, it seems the ball is in Tank Davis’s court - if the offer meets his price, the fight could finally become a reality.
