Tim Tszyu, the rising Australian junior middleweight sensation, has thrown his weight behind Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the much-anticipated bout against Jermell Charlo at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Charlo, the undisputed world champion at junior middleweight, is taking a bold step by moving up two weight divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed title at 168-pounds. This high-stakes battle will be the main event on a Showtime Pay-Per-View card.

With Charlo’s decision to step into the ring, Tszyu, who holds the WBO’s interim belt, is set to be promoted to the status of full champion. Tszyu’s prediction for the fight leans heavily in favor of Canelo, citing the Mexican’s vast experience and ring intelligence as key factors.

While Tszyu holds Charlo in high regard, he feels that Canelo operates on a different level. Speaking to Fox Sports Australia, Tszyu said, “Canelo Alvarez is next level ... and Charlo isn’t on that same level.” He envisions the fight progressing to the later rounds with Charlo starting strong. However, he believes that once Charlo is backed against the ropes, Canelo’s dominance will become evident, leading to a knockout. Tszyu emphasized Canelo’s physical strength, boxing IQ, and experience as the deciding factors in the bout.

Interestingly, Tszyu downplays the size difference between the two fighters, reminding fans that Canelo started his career at 154-pounds and is actually shorter than Charlo. In his view, size won’t be the determining factor in this clash of titans.
