For the first time since before his professional debut, Troy Isley is officially a free agent. The unbeaten middleweight confirmed the news after sharing a letter from Top Rank’s general counsel stating that he is no longer under an exclusive promotional contract, freeing him to negotiate bouts and promotional rights without restriction.

Isley signed with Top Rank in January 2021 and made his first appearance under the company’s banner one month later. That same year, he also competed in the rescheduled Olympic Games, winning his opening bout before losing a decision to eventual bronze medalist Gleb Bakshi in his second contest.

The 27-year-old fought just once in 2025, scoring a 10-round unanimous decision over Etoundi Michel William in June. That bout took place on the undercard of a show originally slated to be headlined by Keyshawn Davis vs. Edwin De Los Santos, a main event that fell apart after Davis missed weight.

Based in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., Isley remains highly ranked at middleweight, sitting fourth with the WBO and ninth with the WBC. His promotional departure also comes during a transitional period for Top Rank, which has been without a television deal since its agreement with ESPN ended earlier this year.

In a message posted on social media, Isley expressed gratitude toward his former promoter while making it clear he is ready for what comes next. He emphasized patience and focus as he opens discussions with promoters and managers, stating that he is looking for the right opportunities on the biggest stages and remains committed to delivering every time he steps into the ring.
