Top Rank is exploring its broadcasting options as its current deal with ESPN nears its expiration date in August 2025. According to Top Rank president Todd DuBoef, the company is open to new broadcast homes, while still considering the possibility of extending its partnership with ESPN. In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, DuBoef emphasized the evolving landscape of sports broadcasting and the opportunities this presents for Top Rank.
"We love our partnership with ESPN," DuBoef stated. However, he hinted that Top Rank is also evaluating other potential platforms, including technology companies that have entered the sports space. "We’re out there talking to everybody," he revealed, adding that the decision on where Top Rank will broadcast its content in the future is not something they intend to rush.
While ESPN has shown signs of scaling back on boxing in recent years, DuBoef remains optimistic about continuing their relationship. "We’re actually having conversations with ESPN as well," he confirmed. The ongoing discussions could lead to a renewed partnership, but Top Rank is keeping its options open as it looks for the best fit to broadcast its events.
Interestingly, DuBoef mentioned that the team at Creative Artists Agency is actively involved in exploring the best media rights deals. This reflects Top Rank's strategy of not just focusing on domestic broadcasting rights but also considering global opportunities to expand its reach.
As Top Rank navigates the complex world of sports media, fans can expect the company to make a carefully considered decision on its future broadcast partner. Whether that's a continuation with ESPN or a shift to a new platform remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Top Rank is positioning itself to leverage the best possible deal for its fighters and the sport.
