Australian heavyweight prospect Teremoana Jr. believes a showdown with England’s Moses Itauma is inevitable, calling it “an awesome fight” for the future. Itauma is coming off a first-round demolition of Dillian Whyte in Riyadh, while Teremoana Jr. is building momentum under Matchroom Promotions after returning from the Paris Olympics.
Trainer Andy Lee recently tipped a future Itauma-Teremoana clash, comparing it to Emanuel Steward’s early prophecy of Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. Teremoana, 27, welcomed the comparison: “Thanks to Andy Lee for recognizing I’ve got a bit of talent. I believe we’ll be fighting for a world title if we do fight. And then, yeah, we’ll just have to see how things go.”

The Australian is cautious about timing, pointing to Jared Anderson’s defeat to Martin Bakole as a lesson in being pushed too soon. “I haven’t really been tested at all,” Teremoana admitted. “I’ve just got to get the rounds under me and keep building experience one fight at a time.”
Still, he praised Itauma’s rapid rise: “He’s fast. He’s strong. He’s got the goods and the boxing IQ. I’m impressed with what he’s done.” With Usyk, Tyson Fury, and Anthony Joshua nearing the twilight of their careers, a new wave is emerging - Teremoana, Itauma, Richard Torrez Jr., and Bakhodir Jalolov among them.
“It’s exciting times for the heavyweight division,” Teremoana said. “I’d love to fight all of them, but I plan to be the best of the generation.”
Would you actually want that fight to happen?
