Pedro Taduran is pushing for a unification clash with Oscar Collazo following a dominant stoppage victory in his U.S. debut. The IBF strawweight champion stopped Gustavo Perez Alvarez in seven rounds, scoring four knockdowns in Temecula, California to secure the third defense of his title.

Taduran controlled the fight throughout, breaking down Perez with sustained pressure and body work before finishing the job. The win also marked his first knockout since claiming the title in 2024 against Ginjiro Shigeoka.

After the fight, Taduran called for a unification bout with WBO and WBA champion Oscar Collazo. “He says he’s the king of 105lbs… I’ll try him out first to find out who really is the king,” Taduran said.

Manny Pacquiao Promotions president Sean Gibbons echoed that stance, stating the fight is the most logical next step and could be made as early as July or August. He criticized Collazo’s recent opposition and urged him to take on Taduran, describing the Filipino as “the most exciting 105-pounder in the world.”

Collazo is coming off a sixth-round stoppage win over Jesus Haro in March after a planned unification bout with Melvin Jerusalem fell through. With limited high-profile options available, a showdown with Taduran now stands out as a clear path toward establishing a definitive champion in the division.
