Sunday’s rematch between Claressa Shields and Franchon Crews-Dezurn in Detroit will take place in a notably smaller ring than usual. Instead of the standard 20-by-20-foot dimensions, the ring at Little Caesars Arena will measure just 16 feet by 16 feet, which applies to both the main event and the entire undercard.
Shields (17-0, 3 KOs), the self-proclaimed “GWOAT” (Greatest Woman of All Time), will defend her undisputed heavyweight championship in the headlining bout. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Shields has captured world titles in five weight classes and become a four-time undisputed champion across three divisions.
The rematch comes more than nine years after the pair first met in late 2016, when both made their professional debuts. Shields won that contest via a four-round shutout. Since then, Crews-Dezurn (10-2, 2 KOs) has carved out her own legacy, becoming undisputed champion at 168lbs.
Crews-Dezurn lost her super middleweight crown to Savannah Marshall in 2023, but regained two of the stripped titles later that year with a unanimous decision victory over Shadasia Green.
