Rolando “Rolly” Romero has dismissed the idea that a Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia rematch would be competitive, predicting a knockout if the two meet again.

Garcia reignited talk of a grudge rematch after dominating Mario Barrios to win the WBC welterweight title at 147lbs, securing a wide unanimous decision and finally capturing world championship gold. The victory came nearly two years after Garcia’s first scheduled world title challenge against Haney fell apart when he missed weight for their WBC super-lightweight clash.

Although Garcia handed Haney his first career defeat in their bout, the result was later overturned to a no-contest after Garcia tested positive for Ostarine. Following a one-year suspension, Garcia returned but fell short in a second bid for a title - losing to Romero.

Speaking to K.O. Artist Sports after Garcia’s win over Barrios, Romero claimed Garcia is “scared” to face him again, pointing to Garcia’s post-fight call-out of Shakur Stevenson. “That dude is scared of me, you can’t tell?” Romero said.

As momentum builds toward a potential Garcia-Haney welterweight unification, Romero made his stance clear. “Bro, come on, don’t talk to me about that kind of stuff. Devin sucks. Of course [I want to see the rematch], I want to see Devin get knocked out.”
