Regis Prograis isn’t your typical boxer chasing the limelight. At 34, he’s driven by a different kind of hunger - the thirst for victory, the weight of championship belts, and the respect of his adversaries. While stardom isn’t his primary pursuit, he doesn't shy away from it either.

In the boxing realm, there’s an unspoken title, a recognition that doesn’t come with the usual strings attached. It’s the title of being the “face of boxing”, a blend of immense popularity and undeniable skill. Currently, that spotlight shines brightly on Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis. But Prograis is determined to step into that light.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Prograis confidently stated, “I genuinely believe I can be the face of boxing, or at least come close in just two fights.” The second fight he alludes to remains a mystery, but he’s convinced that come December 9th, the world will witness the rise of a new star.

That night, Prograis, the reigning WBC super lightweight champion, will square off against the formidable Devin Haney. While this bout won't add another title to Prograis’ impressive collection, it promises to be a spectacle, drawing countless fans. Haney, after all, is the talk of the town, having recently defeated Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr.

For Prograis, this is more than just another fight. It’s a golden opportunity. A win against Haney, followed by another significant victory, could propel him to the same revered status as Alvarez and Davis. As he puts it, “The chance is right there, waiting for me. All I need to do is seize it.”
