The scheduled exhibition between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul on November 14 in Miami is now in serious doubt following new legal accusations against Davis, as the WBA lightweight champion was named in a Miami-Dade civil case this week for battery, kidnapping, and three additional counts related to an alleged assault at a Florida nightclub.

An individual briefed on the matter said that “all options are on the table” as Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions evaluates how to proceed. With just two weeks remaining before fight night, discussions reportedly include replacing Davis, postponing the event, or Netflix potentially scrapping the bout entirely due to the nature of the allegations.

Court filings claim Davis attacked former girlfriend Courtney Rossel, choking and hitting her in the back of the head, while also accusing him of false imprisonment and aggravated battery. The complaint further describes Davis as having “a propensity and pattern of violence upon women,” referencing multiple prior alleged incidents.

This latest case comes months after a separate domestic violence charge against Davis was dropped earlier in the year. The new accusations have reignited concern among event organizers and promotional partners.

Jake Paul, who last fought Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over the summer, had expressed interest in future matchups with cruiserweight champions like Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez or Badou Jack. However, Ramirez is recovering from surgery, and Jack is committed to a December 13 title defense, leaving MVP with limited alternatives should Davis be removed.
