In a riveting showdown at the renowned York Hall, Isaac Chamberlain (16-2, 8 KOs) was trying to seize the British cruiserweight title from Mikael Lawal (17-1, 11 KOs).

The bout, which was the highlight of the evening, saw Chamberlain deliver a stellar performance, dominating Lawal throughout the bout. The judges’ scorecards reflected Chamberlain’s dominance, with scores of 118-111, 118-111, and 119-111. This victory wasn’t just about the British title; the 29-year-old Chamberlain also clinched the vacant Commonwealth cruiserweight title, adding another feather to his cap.

The undercard fights were equally thrilling, showcasing the depth of talent in the boxing world. Sam Gilley (17-1, 8 KOs) and Louis Greene (16-4, 10 KOs) went toe-to-toe in a high-energy bout for the Commonwealth 154 lb title. Gilley managed to wrest the title from Greene. While the scores of 116-111, 117-110, and 118-110 might have seemed a tad generous to some, there was no disputing Gilley’s victory in this intense contest.

Another notable undercard fight featured Joe Laws (14-2, 5 KOs) and Michael Hennessy Jr (11-2-1, 2 KOs). Hennessy, despite his commendable effort and determination, couldn’t match up to the ruggedness of Laws. The bout ended in favor of Laws with a score of 77-75. Hennessy, the progeny of promoter Mick Hennessy, showcased his dedication and fighting spirit, but Laws’ experience and skill proved too much on the night.

The evening also witnessed a commanding performance from Karriss Artingstall (5-0, 1 KO) against Vanessa Bradford. Artingstall was in complete control from the outset. She floored Bradford in the first round and delivered an even more potent blow in the second. Bradford’s corner, recognizing the dominance of Artingstall, decided to halt the fight, giving Artingstall a well-deserved victory. The night was a testament to the passion, skill, and dedication of all the fighters, each leaving their mark in the annals of boxing history.
