Oleksandr Usyk has publicly offered his backing to fellow Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko should the former unified heavyweight champion ever decide to return to the ring.

Speaking on his Ready to Fight App, Usyk made it clear that any involvement from his side would be supportive rather than advisory. *“If he calls, I will personally go to him, bring him to the camp, and do everything possible to help him step into the ring once more,” Usyk said, stressing that the decision would rest entirely with Klitschko himself.

Klitschko, who retired in 2017 following a long and dominant heavyweight reign, has repeatedly stated over the years that he has not fully closed the door on a return. However, he has consistently emphasized that any comeback would be exceptional, not part of a regular fighting schedule, and motivated by a singular goal rather than financial incentives.

That goal, as Klitschko has explained in past interviews, would be an attempt to surpass George Foreman’s record as the oldest heavyweight world champion in history. Despite turning down lucrative offers in the past, including a proposed three-fight deal in 2020, Klitschko has maintained that the right circumstances would be required as since the start of war in Ukraine, his focus has remained firmly on supporting his country alongside his brother Vitali, the Mayor of Kyiv.
