Johnny “Romford Bull” Fisher and Dave “White Rhino” Allen hit the scales on Friday at 245.5 lbs and 265 lbs respectively, setting the stage for their 10-round rematch this Saturday, 17 May, at London’s Copper Box Arena. The bout tops Matchroom’s card and carries the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight strap, with DAZN streaming worldwide.
The sequel was demanded after December’s desert drama in Riyadh, where Fisher survived a fifth-round knockdown yet emerged with a narrow split decision that many felt should have gone Allen’s way. The verdict ignited social-media fury and left the 19,500-strong crowd booing as Fisher’s perfect record moved to 13-0.
Fisher admits he was “too pally” with the Yorkshire veteran last time and vows to check the friendliness at the door: “You’re there to dispatch the other guy,” he told BBC Sport. Allen, meanwhile, believes Fisher’s politeness masked frailties he can exploit again, declaring that this camp has been “about redemption, not retirement.”
Beyond bragging rights, a statement win keeps the 26-year-old Fisher on course for domestic title contention, while a 34-year-old Allen upset would revive a career that has already rebounded from defeats to Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz.
