Super middleweight prospect Niall Brown will face a new opponent tomorrow after original foe Darren Johnstone was forced to withdraw due to injury. Brown had been scheduled to meet the 12-1 Johnstone in the co-feature beneath Harlem Eubank vs. Josh Wagner at the Brighton Centre. With Johnstone sidelined, promoters Wasserman Boxing have moved quickly to keep Brown on the card.

Replacing him is Pierre Rosadini a fighter known more for durability than punching power. Rosadini’s first six defeats all went the distance, and although he suffered a seventh-round TKO loss to Jimmy Sains back in January, he has since rebuilt momentum with two victories. Earlier this year, he edged previously unbeaten Mustapha Zaouche by majority decision in a rematch, and followed it with a wide points win over Salim Ben Rejeb in October.

The matchup is a clear shift from Brown’s original assignment, but Rosadini’s toughness and recent form ensure he won’t be turning up simply to make up the numbers. For Brown, the late change means adjusting quickly while still aiming to impress in front of a national audience on Channel 5.

He isn’t the only fighter affected on the undercard. Wasserman also announced that heavyweight Matty Harris has withdrawn due to illness, causing the cancellation of his scheduled bout with Franklin Ignatius.

Despite the disruptions, the Brighton event moves forward with Brown determined to stay unbeaten.
