Most Valuable Promotions is positioning itself for a long-term presence on British television after marking Sky Sports’ return to boxing with its April 5 event at London’s Olympia. The all-women’s card, headlined by Caroline Dubois vs. Terri Harper in a WBC/WBO lightweight unification, will be MVP’s first promotion on UK soil and Sky’s first boxing broadcast since its split with Boxxer last summer.
Although the April 5 show is officially a standalone event, MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian confirmed ongoing discussions aimed at establishing a longer-term partnership. “We’re continuing to work on our long-term relationship,” Bidarian said. “My hope is we’ll have that announced in the next few weeks or months. We’re looking to be in the UK on a consistent basis.” He added that the UK’s dense boxing market and passionate fanbase make regular shows an attractive proposition.
A potential extended deal could also pave the way for the UK return of MVP’s biggest star, Jake Paul. Bidarian made it clear that bringing Paul back across the Atlantic is a priority. “I would love to bring Jake Paul to the UK,” he said. “He started his career here and he should continue it here.” Paul famously launched his professional run in Britain in 2020, and MVP views a return as both symbolic and commercially significant.
Sky’s renewed alignment with MVP is rooted in a shared commitment to women’s boxing. Bidarian pointed to Sky’s long-standing investment in the women’s game, from Katie Taylor’s early professional years to more recent title reigns by Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price. “They’re massive believers in the power of women to put on amazing entertainment products,” Bidarian said, stressing that MVP’s ability to stage cards featuring multiple world title fights sets it apart in the current market.
While MVP remains open to expanding further into men’s boxing beyond Paul, Bidarian emphasized a selective approach. “We’ve been strategic in how we’ve built up our male roster,” he explained, citing the financial and political challenges of competing with established promoters.
