Floyd Mayweather’s financial image is facing renewed scrutiny after former manager Jona Rechnitz publicly pushed back against Mayweather’s $175 million lawsuit and claimed he has proof to support his side.

Mayweather is suing Rechnitz over allegations tied to jewelry transactions, loans and the sale of a private jet. Rechnitz, however, says records, texts, photos, videos and documents exist that show Mayweather knew about several of the disputed transactions.

“It’s sad that Floyd blew through his money,” Rechnitz said, adding that he had warned Mayweather about his spending habits. “I had many conversations with him about slowing down with the spending, but unfortunately, it caught up to him and now he’s looking to blame others.”

Rechnitz also pointed to Mayweather’s other legal battles, including claims against Showtime and Business Insider, arguing that the former champion is blaming others as questions around his finances grow louder. Mayweather strongly disputes Rechnitz’s version and is seeking major damages through the lawsuit.

The timing adds another layer to the story. A proposed Manny Pacquiao rematch remains unresolved, a Mike Tyson exhibition has been postponed, and Mayweather is still scheduled to face Mike Zambidis later this month.

For years, Mayweather built the “Money” brand around wealth, control and smart business. Now, with lawsuits piling up and former associates speaking publicly, the attention has shifted from his next fight to the question following him more often: where did all the money go?
