Callum “King” Walsh is set to make his New York debut at the iconic Madison Square Garden’s Theater. The ten-round main event, scheduled for Thursday, November 9, will be globally broadcasted on UFC Fight Pass, marking its first boxing event at The Garden. Walsh expressed his excitement about fighting at the renowned venue, especially ahead of UFC 295. After a triumphant fourth-round stoppage against Juan Jose Velasco in Los Angeles, the Cork, Ireland native is eager to showcase his skills in New York.

Walsh will defend his WBC US Silver super welterweight title against New York’s Ismael Villarreal. Villarreal, coming off a recent victory against John Martinez, is equally determined to make a mark. He envisions becoming a world boxing champion by 2024 and views the upcoming fight against Walsh as a stepping stone towards that dream. Both fighters’ promoters, Freddie Roach and Kathy Duva, have expressed their confidence and anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying match.

Tom Loeffler, known for promoting sold-out events at Madison Square Garden, highlighted the significance of the venue for budding boxing superstars. He mentioned the massive crowds that Walsh attracts in Los Angeles and anticipates a similar response for his New York debut. Loeffler also acknowledged the collaboration with Dana White and the UFC team, emphasizing their contribution to Callum’s rising career and the upcoming event.
