Most Valuable Promotions has signed former WBC junior flyweight titleholder Kim Clavel, who will debut for the outfit in the fall. The Montreal native arrives on a four-fight win streak after a unanimous decision over Anabel Ortiz in February, and links up with fellow Canadians Lucas Bahdi and two-time Olympian Tamm Thibeault on the MVP roster.
Clavel’s résumé blends achievement and service. Guided by Groupe Yvon Michel and trained by Danielle Bouchard, she won the WBC 108-lb title in 2022 by defeating Yesenia Gomez. A standout amateur - 85 bouts, world-ranked No. 5, and 2017 Continental Games gold - Clavel turned pro the same year. Away from the ring, the trained nurse returned to long-term care work during the pandemic, earning the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2020 ESPYs, alongside honors as the WBC Prospect of the Year and a TIME New Generation Leader.
“A new chapter begins with MVP,” Clavel said, thanking Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian while setting her aim on becoming a unified champion. MVP’s co-founders praised Clavel’s courage and profile on both sides of the ropes and teased what’s next: “Attache ta tuque - because the next chapter is going to be big,” with an event in Quebec soon.
At 34, Clavel is positioned for another run at hardware. The immediate plan is simple: a fall launch with MVP, then a push back toward belts at 108—with unification ambitions clearly in view.
