Keyshawn Davis has been elevated to No. 1 in the WBO welterweight rankings, putting him directly behind champion Devin Haney and giving his long-running callout far more weight.
Davis has spent much of 2026 pushing for a fight with Haney, but until now it was easier to frame the challenge as noise from a fighter still proving himself at 147lbs. That changes with the WBO’s latest update, which places Davis above Manny Pacquiao at No. 2 and Teofimo Lopez at No. 3.
Davis earned the rise after winning his first two fights since moving up in weight. He stopped Jamaine Ortiz in the 12th round, then defeated Nahir Albright by unanimous decision on May 16, strengthening his case as a real welterweight contender.
The ranking does not automatically force Haney into the fight. Davis has not been ordered as mandatory challenger, and Haney still has bigger-money options available, including a possible Ryan Garcia rematch.
