Keyshawn Davis returns to Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday night with a chance to repair the damage from a difficult homecoming last year.
Davis was supposed to defend his WBO lightweight title in Norfolk in June 2025, but came in 4.3 pounds over the limit, lost the belt on the scale and saw his planned fight with Edwin De Los Santos fall apart. The night grew worse when Nahir Albright accused Davis and his brother Keon of jumping him backstage after Albright defeated Kelvin Davis.
Now Davis faces Albright in a super lightweight rematch, with their own history already complicated. Davis beat Albright by majority decision in 2023, but the result was later changed to a no contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana.
Davis says he understands the importance of this opportunity. “Boxing is a short game, so I gotta make sure I make the best out of every single opportunity and be professional every single time,” he told DAZN. “Every opportunity is a blessing. Just to show the city that this man, "Thee Amazing" Keyshawn Davis, he’s back.”
The card will also feature his brothers, with Kelvin Davis (15-1, 8 KOs) facing Peter Dobson and Keon Davis (4-0, 3 KOs) meeting Edwine Humaine Junior. “We’re all fighting together as a family,” Davis said.
