Jermall Charlo says he is chasing another world title as he begins a new campaign at super middleweight. The unbeaten former two-division champion returns on July 25 in Australia, where he faces Koen Mazoudier on the undercard of Errol Spence Jr. vs. Tim Tszyu.

Charlo believes 168lbs is the right division for the next stage of his career and says he feels more comfortable at the weight.

“I want to go for another world title in a third weight division,” Charlo said. “I feel a lot more comfortable at 168. It really doesn’t matter who they put in front of me.”

The 36-year-old has fought only three times since his 2020 win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko. His most recent outing came in May 2025, when he stopped Thomas LaManna after five rounds in his first fight at super middleweight.

Mazoudier is moving up from junior middleweight for the fight. A win would help Charlo continue his push toward contention in one of boxing’s strongest divisions.

Charlo says he is trusting longtime trainer Ronnie Shields to handle the scouting and believes this stage of his career can still become his best.

“I feel like I’m gonna have my advantages in this division,” Charlo said. “I’m planning to make this quarter of my career the best one.”
