Jaron Ennis says comparisons to Terence Crawford do not bother him as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career against Xander Zayas.

Ennis became IBF welterweight champion after Crawford moved up in weight, then defended the belt twice before unifying against WBA champion Eimantas Stanionis with a dominant sixth-round win. He has since moved to 154lbs, stopping Uisma Lima in the first round on his super welterweight debut.

Now Ennis will try to become a unified world champion in a second division when he challenges Zayas for the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles on Saturday night.

The Crawford comparisons have followed Ennis for years, but the Philadelphia fighter says he is focused only on his own style and path.

“I know that I fight like me,” Ennis said. “Don’t nobody fight like me and I don’t fight like nobody. My style is different from everybody else.”

Ennis had been linked to a long-awaited fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr., but with that matchup delayed, he now faces a younger champion in Zayas, who is looking to prove he is the top man at 154lbs.
