Jake Paul is reportedly set to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition on Nov. 15 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, with weight details still to be finalized. The matchup, first floated by Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger, would be the most high-profile—and most unconventional—assignment of Paul’s boxing venture to date.
On paper, Davis is the proven elite. He’s coming off a contentious draw with Lamont Roach Jr. in March after back-to-back stoppages of Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin, and he famously labeled Paul a “bozo” following Paul’s spectacle with Mike Tyson. Yet the size gap here is glaring, and the exhibition tag ensures any result won’t touch the official ledgers—limiting competitive meaning while maximizing intrigue.

For Davis, the upside is commercial: a massive payday and mainstream exposure. The risk is reputational. With fans already clamoring for a Roach rematch or a showdown with WBC titlist Shakur Stevenson, detouring into an exhibition with a much larger non-contender could harden narratives about avoidance—fair or not.
Paul, meanwhile, gets the biggest brand name of his boxing resume, but not necessarily the biggest credit. Given the expected weight disparity and the non-sanctioned format, even a highlight finish over the smaller pound-for-pound star would be filed under “event” more than “career win.”
Bottom line: this is less sport than show, a made-for-attention mashup that will sell big and settle little. If it lands on Nov. 15 as reported, expect a packed house, a viral night, and just as many questions the morning after.
