Jake Paul revealed during a press conference for the upcoming Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event that he may not return to the boxing ring until late 2026 or early 2027 as he continues recovering from a broken jaw suffered in his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua.

Paul explained that he recently underwent a second surgical procedure and will need several months before he can resume full training. According to him, doctors have advised that it will take four to six months before he is even able to spar again while the bone heals.

The injury occurred during Paul’s fight with Joshua on December 19, when the British heavyweight stopped him in the sixth round. The defeat left Paul with a jaw broken in two places, requiring surgery the following day and a second operation in February.

Despite the setback, Paul confirmed he intends to continue boxing once he has fully recovered. He also indicated that his future bouts will take place at cruiserweight rather than heavyweight after experiencing Joshua’s power in their fight.

Paul said he believes cruiserweight is the division where he performs best and plans to focus on climbing the rankings once he returns to competition.
