Jake Paul (6-0, 4 KOs) joins the Professional Fighters League as he transitions into mixed martial arts.
On Thursday, the former social media star and performer revealed that he has inked an MMA deal with PFL. The agreement's financial details were not made public, but according to PFL chairman and co-founder Donn Davis, it is a multiyear agreement.
“I’ve proven myself in and out of the boxing ring and now I am going to do the same in MMA, and there is no limit to the positive impact I can make on the sport,” he said.
Paul's most well-known battles have been with MMA competitors, like former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. Paul has hinted at switching to mixed martial arts in the past, but it's likely that he'll also keep up his professional boxing career.
Actually, no specific date has been set for Paul to make his MMA debut, but he told The New York Times that he hopes to meet Nate Diaz this year, first in a boxing bout and then in an MMA fight with PFL. Diaz, 37, has battled out his UFC contract for the first time since 2007 and is now a combat sports free agent.
