Jake Paul has admitted that his boxing career could be over after suffering a serious jaw injury in his defeat to Anthony Joshua.

Paul, who turned professional in 2020, built his boxing profile through wins over former UFC fighters such as Nate Diaz, Ben Askren and Anderson Silva. His first loss came against Tommy Fury, but his second defeat proved far more damaging.

In December, Paul stepped up against Joshua and was stopped in the sixth round after being caught by a heavy right hand. After the fight, Paul revealed that he had suffered a double broken jaw.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul said he is waiting on fresh scans before knowing whether he can fight again. “We’ll see what the doctors say,” he said. “Can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibility.”

Paul said the injury is improving but admitted he still needs medical clearance before sparring, as he is missing a tooth and may need an implant.

Although Paul has considered the possibility that his boxing career is finished, he said he still feels there are things he wants to accomplish in the sport. Even if he cannot fight again, his role in boxing is expected to continue through MVP.
