Jake Paul has given a candid assessment of Anthony Joshua’s punching power after suffering a sixth-round knockout defeat in their controversial heavyweight clash on Friday night. The bout took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, where Paul lasted longer than many expected before being stopped in what was widely viewed as a mismatch.

Despite avoiding an early finish, Paul was gradually worn down as the fight progressed. Joshua scored multiple knockdowns before sealing the stoppage in the sixth round and has already sparked renewed talk of a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury in 2026. After the fight, Paul revealed he believes his jaw was broken during the contest.

Speaking in his post-fight interview, Jake Paul acknowledged Joshua’s power and the physical toll of the bout. He said he simply tired under Joshua’s weight and pressure, adding that while Joshua “hits hard,” he felt he could have continued longer with better conditioning. Paul insisted he plans to return, drop back down to cruiserweight, and continue pursuing his goal of becoming a world champion.

Joshua, meanwhile, was clear about what he wants next. After securing the stoppage win, Anthony Joshua called out Fury directly, challenging him to step away from social media and into the ring. Joshua said he wants the rivalry settled with fists rather than words, reigniting one of British boxing’s longest-running sagas.

Joshua and Fury have been linked to a fight for nearly a decade, with repeated attempts failing to materialise. Earlier reports suggested a clash could finally take place in 2026, and with Joshua now past the Paul spectacle, attention appears to be shifting firmly toward that all-British heavyweight showdown.
