Daniel Dubois could move from one all-British heavyweight fight to another after stopping Fabio Wardley in the 11th round to win the WBO title in Manchester.

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed that Wardley has a rematch clause, meaning a second fight remains the most likely option after their dramatic battle at Co-op Live. Still, Warren also admitted that Moses Itauma could come into play if the rematch does not happen next.

“There’s a rematch clause so we’ll see what happens,” Warren said. “It may well be [Itauma] but there’s lots of different fights and permutations.”

Itauma, 21, was ringside for Dubois’ victory and is currently ranked No. 1 by the WBO. He is scheduled to fight at London’s O2 Arena on August 8, keeping him active while the heavyweight title picture develops.

Warren praised both Dubois and Wardley for the heart they showed, describing Wardley as “a warrior” and saying Dubois has repeatedly come through difficult fights against top-level opposition.

The card also produced a major upset before the main event, with Zak Chelli stopping David Morrell in the 10th round. Warren compared the shock to Amir Khan’s loss to Breidis Prescott and called the Manchester show “the best fight card” he has promoted.
