Kieran Molloy will look to continue his steady rise through the welterweight division when he faces Sean Noakes on Saturday at Copper Box Arena.
Molloy (14-0, 7 KOs) originally hoped to challenge for a world title within three years of turning professional in 2022, but setbacks, cancelled fights and delayed opportunities slowed his progress.
The unbeaten Irishman has since rebuilt momentum and will compete for the fifth time in 15 months. Victory over Noakes is expected to move the IBF European welterweight champion into the organization’s top 15.
“It’s all about the right route and the right fights at the right times,” Molloy said. “I had a lot of setbacks early in my career, but I stuck at it and now I’m starting to reap the rewards.”
Molloy now trains alongside fellow welterweight contender Harlem Eubank under Charlie Beatt. Although both are pursuing world title opportunities, Molloy ruled out any immediate fight between the stablemates.
His focus remains on continuing to win and moving closer to the world title dream he has carried since childhood.
