Eddie Hearn says the signed contract for Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury specifically states that the fight must take place in the UK, despite growing talk of a possible move to the United States.
Joshua and Fury have both signed for the long-awaited heavyweight clash, which is expected later in 2026, likely November. But both men still have interim fights first: Joshua faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia, while Fury is expected to return in August, with Nelson Hysa recently linked as a possible opponent.
The venue question has become a major talking point after reports suggested SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas were being considered. Dana White also added to the confusion by claiming he knows where the fight will happen and suggesting he has played a bigger role in negotiations than Hearn.
Hearn, however, says any move outside Britain would require a change to the current deal. “The contract specifically states that the fight must take place in the UK,” he told BoxingScene. “Right now there is no official confirmation.”
That keeps the biggest British heavyweight fight in years surrounded by uncertainty. The contracts are signed, the date range is forming, and the US is being discussed — but according to Hearn, the paperwork still points home.
