Eddie Hearn believes a long-awaited fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury would stand above every major boxing event previously staged in the UK.

Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn described the matchup as “ten times bigger” than any other domestic fight, pointing to the mainstream recognition of both heavyweights. “Everybody in the country knows who AJ and Fury are,” he said, calling the bout a “massive event” built around two of the biggest names of their generation.

The fight has been discussed for years without being finalized, but Hearn credited Turki Alalshikh with helping move negotiations into a stronger position. According to Hearn, Alalshikh’s ability to deal with both sides separately has been key to making major fights happen.

Hearn also suggested that an official announcement could come as early as July 25, potentially in the ring, provided both fighters complete their upcoming commitments. While Wembley Stadium remains the preferred venue, the final location will depend on the event’s financiers.

Although both men are no longer viewed at their absolute peak, Hearn dismissed the idea that public interest has cooled. He argued that once fight week approaches, the scale of Fury vs. Joshua will become impossible to ignore.
