Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez will add another chapter to his growing résumé outside the ring when Zurdo Promotions co-promotes a January 31 fight card in Texas. The event, titled Gulf Coast Glory, will take place at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown, roughly 20 minutes west of Corpus Christi, and is being staged alongside Knuckle Up Promotions and Heil Law.
The 34-year-old Ramirez remains active as a fighter, currently recovering from shoulder surgery and preparing for a May cruiserweight title defense against David Benavidez. Still, he continues to build his presence as a promoter, with this marking the third show under the Zurdo Promotions banner.
The January 31 card is scheduled to feature middleweight Julian Delgado (7-1, 3 KOs), junior welterweight Jerry Belmontes (21-10, 6 KOs), Kareem Hackett (12-1, 6 KOs) moving up to cruiserweight for his first bout since a March 2024 knockout loss to Rowdy Legend Montgomery, and undefeated featherweight Enkhmandakh Kharkhuu (7-0, 3 KOs). Opponents for all four fighters have yet to be announced.
Ramirez’s previous promotional efforts included a December 2020 show in Galveston, Texas, headlined by his own 10th-round TKO of Alfonso Lopez, and a later event in his hometown of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He described promotion as a long-term goal and said Corpus Christi holds special significance, noting it as a city where he twice defended a world title during his super middleweight reign.
As a fighter, Ramirez enters 2026 with a 48-1 (30 KOs) record. He captured the WBA cruiserweight title with a unanimous decision over Arsen Goulamirian in March 2024, unified with the WBO belt by outpointing Chris Billam-Smith that November, and most recently defeated Yuniel Dorticos on the scorecards last June.
