Gervonta Davis, the undefeated three-division champion and current lightweight titleholder, has been accused by his former girlfriend of battery, kidnapping, and three additional counts related to an alleged incident in Miami earlier this week.

According to a civil case filed Thursday in Miami-Dade County, Courtney Rossel claims Davis entered the nightclub where she worked in the early hours of Monday, October 27, and assaulted her. The filing alleges that Davis choked, grabbed, and pushed Rossel, as well as struck her in the back of the head. The complaint includes charges of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Rossel’s attorneys, Richard C. Wolfe and Jeff C. Chukwuma, confirmed that she has also filed for a domestic violence injunction. The suit describes Davis as having “a propensity and pattern of violence upon women” and claims he had been violent toward Rossel on at least four prior occasions, allegedly threatening to kill her multiple times.

Davis is set to face Jake Paul in a much-anticipated exhibition match on November 14 in Miami, to be streamed live on Netflix. As of now, no official statement has been made regarding whether the allegations will impact the planned bout.
