The long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has taken another turn, with both camps now leaning toward interim bouts before finally meeting later this year.
The latest development suggests both fighters want one more outing before facing each other. Joshua is targeting a July return, likely in Saudi Arabia, as he continues his recovery from a serious car accident and a long period of limited activity. His last fight saw him stop Jake Paul in six rounds, but his team is looking for a more meaningful tune-up before stepping into a mega fight.
Fury’s side is now thinking the same way. Despite already going 12 rounds in his comeback, his team is reportedly seeking another “proper” warm-up bout to sharpen him further after time away from the ring.

The risk, however, remains the same as in previous years. Any interim fight introduces uncertainty. One bad night, an injury, or an unexpected result could once again delay or derail what is still considered the biggest fight in British boxing.
