A capacity crowd at Oceanside’s Frontwave Arena saw California’s newest flyweight star put her belts on the line and a 154‑pound showdown that pitted Mexican pressure against American poise.
In the main event Gabriela Fundora retained her four‑belt crown with a sustained, body‑first attack that finally forced challenger Marilyn Badillo to a knee midway through the seventh. The southpaw champion controlled distance early with quick jabs and long left hands, but it was the steady investment downstairs that proved decisive: Badillo’s output faded by the middle rounds, her guard crept lower, and Fundora pounced with a closing burst that left referee Rudy Barragán no choice but to wave matters off at 1:44 of round seven. Fundora hinted afterward that a move in 108 or 115 pounds could be next in her belt‑collecting quest.
In the co-main event, ten rounds of seesaw action ended with Mexico’s Jorge García Pérez edging previously unbeaten Charles Conwell via split decision. Pérez’s body punches and higher volume carried the middle frames, while Conwell landed the sharper singles in the stretch run. Scores of 115‑113 (twice) overruled a matching tally for the Ohio native, handing Pérez his eighth straight victory and thrusting him into the 154‑pound contender conversation.
In the undercard, cruiserweight prospect Tristan Kalkreuth out‑boxed former interim titlist Félix Valera across ten one‑sided rounds. Bakersfield banger Joel Iriarte needed less than two minutes to stay perfect with his seventh knockout in as many starts. Former light‑heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk returned to winning ways, scoring two knockdowns en route to a third‑round stoppage.
