Frank Warren has urged patience over Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury, saying the long-awaited British heavyweight fight is still on as long as both men come through their next bouts.

Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia, while Fury is expected to take a warm-up fight in August. Warren says once those fights are completed, the date and location for Joshua-Fury can be finalized.

“It’s on, the fight is on,” Warren said. “Unless either of them get beaten in these two fights they’re going to have, the fight is on, no problems.”

The fight still has several moving pieces, including Sela, Netflix, the promoters and both fighters. Warren said each side will have a preference over the location and final structure, but believes there is too much at stake for the fight not to happen.

Netflix is expected to broadcast the event, while the exact venue remains undecided. Warren said everyone involved will need to be satisfied before the announcement is made.

“I don’t see any problems in getting this fight on,” Warren said. “Let them get their respective fights out the way - once that’s done, then there will be an announcement.”
