Floyd Mayweather says retirement has not changed his status in boxing, claiming he remains the face of the sport at 50 years old.

The unbeaten former five-division world champion made the comment while discussing a possible return for another exhibition bout. Fights involving names such as Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao have been mentioned, though nothing has been finalized.

“I’m still the face of boxing,” Mayweather said. “I’m 50 years old and still the face of boxing.”

Mayweather also rejected claims that any return would be driven by financial problems. He insisted his finances remain secure, pointing to his real estate, businesses and ability to continue supporting his family and employees.

The former champion said exhibitions give him a chance to entertain fans and stay active without making a full professional comeback.

“If I’m able to steal some extra money, why not?” Mayweather said. “If I’m able just to steal a little bit, why not?”

Mayweather retired professionally with a perfect 50-0 record after stopping Conor McGregor in 2017. Since then, he has continued to appear in exhibitions while staying involved with Mayweather Promotions and mentoring young fighters.
