Gervonta Davis’ immediate future remains uncertain, but Keyshawn Davis has already made one thing clear - if the fight ever happens, he believes he will knock ‘Tank’ out.
Davis has not recorded a win since June 2024. A draw with Lamont Roach Jr. stands as his only outing in the last 20 months, and a planned November exhibition with Jake Paul was scrapped. Following an arrest for an alleged domestic incident, the 31-year-old was stripped of his WBA lightweight title. While Davis has hinted at a rematch with Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and a potential move up in weight, his in-ring return date remains unclear.
Speaking on the “Come and Talk 2 Me” podcast, Keyshawn Davis said his respect for Davis faded after a remark about his mental health. “I was cool with you, until you said a mental health joke about me. I don’t really respect you, for real,” he said. Davis acknowledged Tank’s ability but insisted the dynamic would be different now.
“If you ever would give me a chance to fight you, just be ready, bro,” Davis said. “I am not one of those people like you have been picking on and bullying that you know you can beat… I am not playing with you and you are getting stopped.” He added that Davis likely won’t take the fight, suggesting the Baltimore star knows the risk.
Despite the bold callout, Keyshawn may not remain at super-lightweight long-term. He has also demanded a showdown with WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney following his latest win, and Haney has indicated he is open to it. For now, though, Davis has thrown down the gauntlet - daring Gervonta to return and prove him wrong.
