At the bustling Caribe Royale Orlando, live on DAZN, Amaury Piedra of Boxlab Promotions teamed up with Most Valuable Prospects II to serve up an evening of exhilarating boxing.
There, in the main event, Nestor Bravo (22-0, 15 KOs), the WBO NABO Super Lightweight champion, displayed an impressive combination of speed and power against Will “Ill Will” Madera (17-3-3, 10 KOs) to claim the WBA Continental Americas title after ten rounds. The highlight of their bout was when Bravo’s potent lead right and a follow-up left shook Madera in the early stages. By the final round, despite Madera's best efforts, Bravo was deemed the victor with scores of 96-94 twice and 99-91.
The undercard also boasted significant talent. Welterweight Damian Les Caillie (5-0, 3 KOs) showcased an array of skills against southpaw Hugo Noriega (8-1, 5 KOs) for the vacant Continental Americas title. Through ten rounds, Caillie consistently outperformed Noriega, highlighted by a jab in the ninth that had Noriega reeling. The judges saw it 96-93 and 97-92 twice in favor of Caillie. Also Elijah Flores (6-0, 2 KOs) narrowly clinched a majority decision over Elijah “The Bully” Williams (6-1, 2 KOs) in a tense 6-round bout. Williams started strong, but Flores came back in the later rounds to even the score, resulting in a 58-56 score twice and a 57-57 draw.
Over in Atlanta at the Overtime Elite Arena, boxing fans witnessed Kurt Scoby (13-0, 11 KOs) putting on a clinic against Narcisco Carmona (11-1-1, 6 KOs). Scoby’s aggression paid dividends in the sixth round, where a barrage of punches left Carmona defenseless, prompting Referee Malik Waleed to intervene.
In the co-main event, Shawn “The Amazing” McCalman (14-0, 7 KOs) outclassed Money Powell IV (13-2, 8 KOs) over eight rounds, even though Powell tried to mount a comeback in the later rounds.
One of the most intense bouts of the evening was in the undercard between Javon “Pop” Woodard, Jr. Campbell (12-1, 10 KOs) and Lorenzo Parra II (22-1, 17 KOs). Both fighters had their moments, with Parra having Woodard on the ropes multiple times. However, Woodard’s resilience, coupled with Parra’s power, resulted in a draw after the stipulated 8 rounds. The additional ninth round was explosive, and in the end, the judges were split equally, leaving the audience asking for a rematch.
