It was another exciting night of boxing under the bright lights of Las Vegas, where fans packed the Michelob Ultra Arena hoping to see fireworks from some of the sport’s top junior middleweight contenders. With a mix of proven champions and promising prospects on the card, the stage was set for action from the opening bell.
Headlining the event, WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora made a strong statement in his first fight after a year layoff. Facing Chordale Booker, Fundora imposed his will early, using his reach and punishing shots to control the ring. In the fourth round, Fundora landed a clean blow that sent Booker to the canvas. Although Booker beat the count, a follow-up barrage forced the referee to halt the contest at 2:51 of the same round. Fundora’s impressive performance only adds to the anticipation surrounding his next title defense.

On the undercard, rising junior middleweight Jesus Ramos Jr scored a seventh-round stoppage against Guido Schramm. After working behind a stiff jab and landing consistent left hands, Ramos Jr. hurt Schramm with a hook in the seventh. Sensing his opponent’s vulnerability, Ramos piled on the pressure until the referee stepped in at the 1:38 mark. While he continues to rack up wins, questions remain about Ramos’s development, as he’s been matched carefully following a decision loss to Erickson Lubin in 2023.

Perhaps the most controversial bout of the night came in the middleweight clash between Elijah Garcia and veteran Terrell Gausha. Garcia suffered a big knockdown in the first round and found himself absorbing punishing right hands from Gausha throughout the early and middle stages. Although Garcia mounted a late rally, many observers felt Gausha deserved the nod based on cleaner, harder shots. Two of the three judges scored it for Garcia in a split decision (95-94, 95-94, 96-93), leaving some ringside pundits questioning the verdict and Garcia’s future potential at just 21 years old.
