Derek Chisora has sparked fresh intrigue around the heavyweight division after claiming he has officially signed the contract for his long-awaited 50th professional fight, as the 42-year-old shared footage on social media showing himself signing a four-page document.
Chisora, who has enjoyed a late-career resurgence since his 2022 trilogy loss to Tyson Fury, has remained active with annual wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin. Despite calls from some fans to retire, “Del Boy” appears determined to reach the symbolic half-century mark.
Rumours circulating in the United States suggest the mystery opponent could be former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, which has been teased on and off for years. While nothing has been confirmed publicly, the idea of Chisora vs. Wilder has already captured attention as a potential all-action showdown.
Chisora remains ranked highly by the IBF, sitting just below unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. However, Usyk has little incentive to revisit a matchup he already won convincingly in 2020, leaving Chisora to explore alternative options for what could be the final chapter of his career.
Although other possibilities, including a bout under the IBA banner against Murat Gassiev, have been floated, sources suggest those talks are preliminary at best and as of now it's not for sure known who will be Chisora's next opponent.
