Rising lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis says he won’t face his friend Shakur Stevenson in an actual pro fight - at least not anytime soon. Instead, Davis hinted they might do a “YouTube-style” exhibition once they’ve “cleaned out” the 135- and 140-pound divisions. He even joked about repeating the same routine at 140, beating everyone else but never meeting Stevenson in a sanctioned bout.
Critics and fans aren’t convinced. They point to Davis’s selective matchmaking, noting he hasn’t faced top contenders like William Zepeda or Andy Cruz. Davis is also huge for the lightweight division and may soon move up. In the meantime, he’ll challenge WBO titleholder Denys Berinchyk on February 14, at Madison Square Garden - viewed by many as a relatively safe route to a belt.

As for the “best three” at 135, Davis places himself alongside Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Stevenson. Detractors say he’s jumping the gun by calling himself a top-three lightweight without beating a single ranked contender.
Whether Davis and Stevenson eventually clash in an official fight or just an exhibition remains to be seen. For now, though, Keyshawn is adamant - friendship with Shakur takes precedence, and any in-ring meeting might be more “show” than “go.”
