Deontay Wilder has set his sights on Anthony Joshua following his split decision victory over Derek Chisora, telling the British heavyweight “let’s do it” as he looks to secure another major fight.

Wilder earned a hard-fought win at the O2 Arena in London, marking just the second points victory of his career. Despite suffering a suspected broken right hand early in the fight, he pushed through to edge the decision against a durable Chisora. After the bout, Wilder declared he was back and ready to rebuild toward big fights. “I’m a king and I showed that tonight… I’m back. And I’m going to get better and better each and every time,” he said.

The callout came as Wilder passed Joshua ringside on his way back to the dressing room, reigniting interest in a matchup that has been discussed for years. The two heavyweights were previously close to fighting during their primes, and even signed for a bout in December 2023 before plans fell apart following Wilder’s loss to Joseph Parker.

Joshua, who has returned to training alongside Oleksandr Usyk after a car accident in December, is expected to make a comeback soon. With both fighters now outside the immediate title picture, a showdown between them remains a commercially appealing option as they look to secure defining fights in the later stages of their careers.

While a clash between Joshua and Tyson Fury is still viewed as the biggest fight in the division, Wilder’s victory and immediate callout have placed him firmly back into the conversation.
