Derek Chisora has fuelled speculation that his long-rumoured showdown with Deontay Wilder is finally sealed after sharing a video of the pair on a video call, during which Chisora waved what appeared to be a signed contract. The heavyweight veterans claimed the fight is set for April 4 in London and would mark Chisora’s 50th professional bout.

In the clip posted to social media, Chisora dramatically pulled the document from a plastic folder before telling Wilder, “I hope you are ready,” prompting an enthusiastic response from the former WBC champion. Wilder replied, “Let’s go, let’s get it,” adding that the next time they would meet would be at a press conference and then in the ring.

Wilder, 40, described the fight as “going to be crazy,” while Chisora echoed the sentiment, calling it their final phone call before fight week. Chisora appeared to hint at the venue by using the hashtag “Tottenham,” suggesting Tottenham Hotspur Stadium rather than the O2 Arena, which had previously been linked to the bout.

Sky Sports are reported to have secured the broadcast rights, which is a huge move for them given their lack of major boxing events since losing their Boxxer deal last year. However, complications remain, as Chisora is still under contract with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions. Warren reiterated that position publicly, stating that Chisora remains tied to Queensberry and that any agreement would require substantial negotiation.

Chisora has fought at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before, most notably in his 2022 loss to Tyson Fury, who has since backed his longtime rival to defeat Wilder. Fury praised both men as “legendary fighters” and tipped Chisora for a stoppage win, adding further intrigue to a bout that, if finalised, would be one of the most eye-catching heavyweight events of 2026.
