A new multi-year agreement between DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions is reportedly signed and awaiting formal announcement.
The extension continues a partnership that dates back to 2018, when Saul Alvarez headlined DAZN’s early push into boxing. Since then, Golden Boy’s stable, now featuring names like Ryan Garcia, Gilberto Ramirez, and Vergil Ortiz Jr., has remained central to the platform’s content.
The timing also matters, as DAZN has already secured deals with Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions, and recently Top Rank, as they continue to build a global boxing hub with consistent high-level events.
For Golden Boy, the deal provides stability and potentially leverage in ongoing situations. One key storyline is the unresolved future of a fight between Jaron Ennis and Ortiz Jr., which stalled amid financial disagreements. While that matchup still lingers, attention has shifted toward a possible bout between Ennis and Xander Zayas, with New York being discussed as the stage.
The renewed partnership could also help ease tensions between Golden Boy and Ortiz Jr.’s camp, where disputes over purse splits have escalated into arbitration. With stronger financial backing from DAZN, there’s hope that “plan A” fights will become easier to make.
At the same time, the deal ensures DAZN remains deeply embedded in upcoming major events, including David Benavidez vs. Ramirez, which will be distributed across both DAZN and Prime Video on pay-per-view.
