Gervonta “Tank” Davis is set to defend his WBA “regular” lightweight title against the #2 ranked Frank Martin on June 15th in Las Vegas.

This much-anticipated main event marks Davis' return to the ring after a 14-month hiatus, during which his popularity has continued to soar despite his infrequent appearances. Alongside this headline bout, the card will also feature David Benavidez facing Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the WBC interim light heavyweight title, serving as a title eliminator. The fights are set to be showcased on Amazon Prime Video PPV, with pricing speculated to be in the mid-70s range.

The announcement of the Davis vs. Martin fight did not come as a major shock, having been rumored for nearly two months.

Davis, known for fighting only once a year, has not diminished in popularity despite his selective opposition, which often leaves hardcore fans wishing for matchups against top-tier lightweights.

Frank Martin last fought in July, narrowly defeating Artem Harutyunyan in a grueling 12-round match that he seemed poised to lose until his opponent tired. Martin's performance, while not stellar, was likely a factor in his selection as Davis' next opponent. Meanwhile, the co-feature fight between Benavidez and Gvozdyk could arguably take top billing on another night. Benavidez, undefeated in 28 fights, is testing the waters in a higher weight class and could set himself up for a major payday should the Saudis express interest in hosting a bout between him and the winner of the upcoming fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
