July 29th’s showdown between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. left the boxing world astonished. What was anticipated to be a closely-fought contest turned into a one-sided masterclass. While fans were initially split, citing Spence’s raw strength and overpowering jab or Crawford’s keen boxing intellect and ring IQ, the actual bout told a different story. Following a contentious first round slightly tilted in favor of Spence, Crawford took command, even dropping Spence in the second round, then dominating the subsequent rounds.

The Omaha native, Crawford, didn’t just stop at merely defeating his opponent. In a spectacular performance, Crawford knocked Spence down twice in the seventh and then sealed the victory in the ninth round. But, as dominating as his performance seemed, Crawford insists the fight was anything but a breeze. “I wouldn’t say it’s easy because I trained so hard for that fight. I put the work in,” he shared in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

Crawford’s intense training clearly shone as he remained one step ahead of Spence throughout, turning the tables on those who favored Spence's chances. But as Spence sets his sights on a rematch, Crawford remains focused on setting the record straight about the grueling preparation that preceded his triumph.

He concludes, “It may look easy on TV but there’s a lot that goes into fighting.” As the possibility of a rematch looms, fans eagerly wait to see if Crawford’s prowess will prevail again or if Spence can reclaim his former glory.
