Terence Crawford has moved quickly to silence speculation that he is entering his showdown with Canelo Alvarez carrying a shoulder injury. The 37-year-old, preparing for his 42nd professional bout, dismissed the talk during fight week, insisting he is fully fit for Saturday’s super-fight in Las Vegas.

“Where I got a shoulder injury at?” Crawford fired back when asked about the rumors. “I think people coming up with their own antics. Terence Crawford got a shoulder injury, Terence Crawford out of shape, Terence Crawford slow. They coming up with all kinds of stuff.”

Three Times Terence Crawford DELIVERED KARMA And Showed NO MERCY: Watch

Crawford, already a two-division undisputed champion after dominating at super-lightweight and welterweight, now steps up to challenge Alvarez, the reigning undisputed super-middleweight champion. The fight takes place on Mexican Independence Day weekend, with Canelo entering as Mexico’s biggest boxing star. Crawford, however, was greeted by boos from the crowd during fight week events.

When asked what excites him most about facing Alvarez, Crawford kept his answer short: “Shutting everybody up.” The former pound-for-pound number one also shrugged off the hostile reception. “This is not the first time I’ve been booed. I don’t care… They can’t fight for him so it doesn’t matter to me. It just puts a little more icing on the cake.”
